Many years ago before the dam was here, there was a horse trail that ran along the river. My father and I and other members of the tribe used this trail to ride to Black Canyon and to Bow Elk, where we'd hunt and fish and sometimes camp. The Bighorn was not very deep then, and I remember crossing the river here on horseback with my father and grandfather.
