Down from upper Utah, down from the western slopes of the Continental Divide, the Green River from Utah joins forces with the Colorado. From this confluence, this meeting of waters, the Green merges with the Colorado, becoming one river.

The river swings eastward again, back into the state it's named for, still cutting, still etching works of art.

Closer now to its origin, many tributaries, such as the powerful Gunnison, add their strength, carving great crevasses, splitting their way through the rugged Rockies.
