Above the dam, the Bighorn, a lake now, backs up seventy-one miles through the sheer limestone canyons, through canyons containing unusual geologic formations and evidence of early man, through rugged ridge land and big skies. Above the dam, a spectacular playground, the Bighorn National Recreational Area, has been created.
