||Supercells are rotating thunderstorms that can cause tornadoes and hail. This video discusses how accepted theory expects to see a pair of counter rotating supercells when tornadoes are born, but this phenomena is rarely seen in nature. A new theory of a single supercell rotation is discussed which involves new mathematical model called vertical rotating draft. Vertical rotating draft is shown as an animation and such factors as rotation around a vertical axis, horizontal convergence, buoyancy and the coriolis force are displayed. A short application of the mathematical model to an existing weather report concludes the video.
